"From farm produce to foraged wildflowers, I do my best to ensure that I know the origins of all of my ingredients from field to fork."
I'm a food writer and recipe developer with a passion for organic, locally sourced, ingredients. From farm produce to foraged wildflowers, I do my best to ensure that I know the origins of all of my ingredients from field to fork. As the food columnist for Lake District & Lancashire Life, and a recipe writer for Booths, it's important that I showcase all of my dishes in a way that gets people excited and eager to give the recipe a go themselves. I find Photo Boards to be the perfect backdrop for all of my dishes, and have never had a picture published without at least one of them in the background.
My Favourite Photo Boards
My favourite Photo Boards have to be CABIN, PATISSERIE and FRENCH LINEN.
CABIN is my failsafe board that stays in the boot of my car for any gastro-photo emergencies! The colour and texture supports everything from savoury to sweet, and the wood isn't too yellow, meaning it can carry pastry dishes without the picture looking washed out.
PATISSERIE is fantastic for situations when I don't have any smaller props on hand, but need some sort of detail to fill out the shot.
Finally, FRENCH LINEN is my go to board for savoury dishes that need to look fresh out of the oven and ready to serve.
All three are perfect starter boards for any food writer or blogger who wants to start a collection of quality backdrops for print or online work.
